We recently received news that InVision is going to be shutting their doors at the end of 2024 making this the last year of inVision prototyping. InVision’s prototyping tools have helped us for over 8 years and watching them get acquired by Miro is exciting but also has us scrambling a bit. In an email sent from the CEO of InVision, Michael explains what is happening and some helpful steps moving forward.
Not only has the Supji website been updated but it has been built with speed and SEO as the primary focus. Our updated color palette helps users with better accessibility. We have designed a much better web experience balancing the 60/30/10 percent rule to help our users flow down the page in an easier way without so many distractions.
Invision Exporting
Knowing that this will be the last year of InVision prototyping, we decided to start exporting all of our prototypes from InVision. Unfortunately we were only able to export one prototype at a time so it took us a while. It’s important to export sooner than later because at the end of the year it could get more difficult to export.
To export your prototype inside of InVision, click into each prototype and go to the dots at the top next to your account image. You will then be able to either export to PDF, export as offline prototype, export screen images, or export comments via csv.
Sketch Mac Only License
To save money over the years we have been using the Sketch Mac Only License so that we can keep sketch for life (however updates do stop). With all of the enhancements that Sketch has been making to their Workspaces we decided to give it a try to replace InVision.
Sketch Workspace
Pretty much everything that InVision does on the prototyping level, Sketch can do as well. This includes inspect, prototyping, components, folders, collections within folders, comments, etc,. So far Sketch offers everything that we need to continue to operate and what is great is how instantaneous updating from Sketch App to the online workspace is. You no longer have to spend minutes syncing with craft. All you do is save the file and it instantly updates to the workspace.
Closing
Before considering jumping onto the Figma train, give Sketch Workspace a try to see all of the similar tools that InVision offers. Remember to start exporting your prototypes from InVision quickly because it is the last year of InVision prototyping and exporting will become difficult towards the end of 2024.
